Can I transfer my prescription from another pharmacy to Sobeys Pharmacy by Mail?

Yes, transferring your prescriptions to Sobeys Pharmacy by Mail is quick and easy. Simply call us Toll Free at 1-866-657-MEDS (6337) or complete the transfer request form, and we will take care of the transfer for you.

Can I claim the medications I order through Sobeys Pharmacy by Mail through my insurance company?

Yes, every order is shipped with a copy of the invoice which states the name, dosage and quantity of medication, along with the price. You can submit this invoice to your insurance company for appropriate reimbursement. If you have a pay-direct drug plan, by providing Sobeys Pharmacy by Mail with your policy information while registering or updating your account, we can bill your insurance company directly on your behalf, and you will only be charged for any applicable remaining costs (such as deductibles or co-pays).

Sobeys Pharmacy by Mail honors most major government and private drug plans.

What if my insurance carrier or coverage changes?

If your insurance carrier changes, simply notify Sobeys Pharmacy by Mail and provide us with the updated insurance information. If your coverage changes or requires you to complete "special or prior authorization" to obtain coverage, we will work with you as we can to assist. However, in some cases, you may need to contact your plan administrator directly for assistance.

Do I need to send in my original prescription?

Yes, if it is a NEW prescription order, you are required to mail in your original or new prescription (For added convenience a postage-paid envelope is shipped with every prescription order). For faster service, your doctor can telephone or fax your prescriptions to us directly at Toll Free Phone 1-888-657-MDRX (6379) or Toll-Free Fax 1-888-343-6060. Our pharmacists will authenticate each original prescription before shipping your order.

Can Sobeys Pharmacy by Mail fill my refrigerated items (ie. insulin, vaccines etc...)?

No, unfortunately this is not a service that we are able to provide at this time. Due to fluctuation in temperatures that can occur during the summer and winter months, we cannot guarantee the stability of the medication as it is shipped through the mail.

Can I order a narcotic prescription from Sobeys Pharmacy by Mail?

No, we cannot deliver narcotic or controlled medications through the mail at this time.

Can Sobeys Pharmacy by Mail fill my acute / urgent care prescriptions?

Yes, Sobeys Pharmacy by Mail provides acute / urgent care medications. However, if you need to take the medication immediately, it is recommended that you obtain your prescription from a local pharmacy, as standard delivery takes 2 to 5 days.

How long does it take to get my prescription from the time that I place my order?

Standard delivery takes 2 to 5 days upon receipt of your complete order.

What if I need to take my medication right away?

When you need to take your medication right away, we recommend that you get two prescriptions from your doctor: one for a short-term supply (e.g. 14 days), and one for a 90-day supply with refills as appropriate. Have the short-term supply prescription filled immediately by your local pharmacy and send the 90-day supply prescription to Sobeys Pharmacy by Mail. If you have current refills remaining on an existing prescription, request us to transfer your file to Sobeys Pharmacy by Mail, and we'll take care of it all for you!

Do you ship outside of Canada?

No, Sobeys Pharmacy by Mail will not ship outside of Canada.

How long are my refills good for?

You will have as many refills as your doctor has authorized for you on the original prescription. The maximum number of refills that can be filled are up to a quantity for a one year's supply from the date of the original prescription. After that, a new original prescription order is required.

How much do you charge for shipping?

There is no charge for shipping on orders sent by standard XpresspostT delivery which include one or more prescription medication(s). Orders for non-prescription items sent in absence of a concurrent prescription order are shipped at no charge if the order value before taxes is equal to or greater than $25.00. For such orders of less than $25.00, standard shipping and handling rates apply.

Orders sent by our Priority CourierT delivery may be subject to shipping charges.

What if I'm not home when the delivery arrives?

If the order contains a prescription medication, it requires a signature and you will receive a notice to pick the parcel up at your closest local postal outlet.

Is it safe to use my credit card?

Yes. We take appropriate steps to make your online transaction secure. Our website features enhanced security measures that help protect you from identity theft and credit card fraud.

What about sales tax?

There is no sales tax on prescription medications. Non-prescription items are subject to applicable taxes (HST).

How is my personal information used?

The personal information you provide to us is viewed only by authorized staff of Sobeys Pharmacy by Mail. It is used strictly for the purpose of completing your prescription and related orders and providing you with pharmacy service. We do not release personal information, in any way, shape or form, to external persons or parties. Read our privacy policy.

What if I would like to return my prescription order?

Prescription medications are not returnable. Non-prescription orders may be returned if in original, unopened packaging for a refund or credit within two weeks of receiving them. Shipping charges (if applicable) will also be refunded if the return is due to an error on our behalf. All returns must be accompanied by the delivery slip they came with. After a returned item is received, it may take up to two weeks to complete processing of the refund to be credited to your credit card account.

What if the medication I need is out of stock?

If a medication you require is out of stock due to a manufacturer's shortage, and we are unable to secure an adequate supply, our pharmacist will be in contact with you and your doctor to determine an appropriate alternative course of action.

How do I pay Sobeys Pharmacy by Mail?

We accept most major government and private drug plans. If you have a deductible or co-payment, or pay in full for your medications (in cases where you do not have medical insurance or have a reimbursement-type plan, we accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Diners Card.)
